New Beginnings

Friday, December 15th, 2006

I am pleased to announce that I will now be working from home full time on OOM as well as my other business ventures. I am so excited to be at this point in my life. I have worked very hard since March 2005 in my offline businesses in order to get to this place.

As some of you may know, the last few months have been tremendously busy. I went to school full time, ran two businesses, and kept up with this blog and all my other online ventures. It was truly a fun time, but also a time where I couldn’t quite devote the time I wanted to this site.

There is a lot I am going to be doing on here in 2007 and I invite all of you to join me. I PROMISE I wll launch the podcasts, and I apologize for not getting them up when I first thought I would.

Probably once a week I’ll be reviewing a personal development or work from home product to let you know about it. I will also get my monthly newsletter actually DONE!

If you haven’t signed up for the newsletter yet, please do so. I have included the sign up form right here in this post.  Just enter your name and email. I don’t spam people and I only email you great free advice!

In all my excitement I forgot to say the reason I am working from home now. I actually sold my offline business and with the money I have coming in from my online ventures, I’ll be able to make it till about May or June.

Of course, by then, I’ll be making all kinds of money online! If you need advice, tips, ideas, etc. about anything in the goal setting, money making fields, I urget you to drop me an email : Mike (at) Only One Mike (dot) com .

I also can’t remember if I said this already, but in all the fun of the last week I also turned 25! I had a goal to be retired by 25, so I guess I have about a year left to make that goal a reality. Let’s see what happens!

Don’t forget to sign up for the newsletter, and I’ll see you real soon. Here’s a quote to think about:

Your Focus Determines Your Future

Writing For A Living

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

I’ve been talking lately to some people in my family who want to work full time from home. After much thought and debate, I thought I would reveal a little secret that is used but quite a few people who want to work from home for themselves.

Now before you think this is gonna be easy, let me say it’s not. It will be a lot of work! What I’m going to reveal right now is for those of you that like to write or proofread. So, if writing isn’t really your forte, I wouldn’t recommend you try this.

Still with me? Good, let’s get to the meat of what I’m talking about.

Everyday, on different sites on the web, business owners are in need of writing. They may need somene to research a topic and write a short 500 word article, they made need someone to proofread their book, or they may even be looking for someone to write a 75 page ebook for them.

So, where do these people go? They go to websites that allow writers (YOU) to bid on these projects. They write down all the information you’ll need to know to decide how much time the project will take you, then you give them a bid on what your cost would be.

It’s sort of like a contractor coming into your home and giving you a bid to fix the hole in your drywall. You might call three or four contractors out and pick from all their bids.

Well, the same thing is going on online, and you can be a part of it. If you have writing skill and would like to work from home and not have to work for somebody else, then you’ll definitely want to check out these sites.

These are the big 3, but you can always use Google to look for more.

http://www.elance.com/

http://www.guru.com/

http://www.rentacoder.com/

Go to those sites and look around. It’s free to sign up and look around, but guru
might charge you something to “see” the best bids. :-(

That is why I recommend you start with Elance. And the real key is to do 4 or 5
of your first jobs for REALLY CHEAP! You want to get your name out there, so you’ll have to do something to get known.

After you’ve done about 5 jobs you’ll have testimonials and maybe even some repeat business, then you’ll be well on your way.
