How $10 Cost Me Millions

May 1st, 2007

Hey!

I wanted to tell you something stupid about me.

I’m not joking, this is so stupid it will probably make
you sick to your stomach. When I thought about it
I almost did get sick!

As you may already know, I spent the last 5 days in
Atlanta, GA at Big Seminar. Big Seminar is sort of the
‘defacto’ seminar of the internet marketing world.

I made a lot of great friends there. Marlon Sanders,
Armand Morin, Russell Brunson, Chris and Ken from
Day Job Killer, Joel Comm, and tons more.

What I found most amazing is that many of them
spoke of the good old days. Like way back (I’m being
sarcastic) in 2002.

Back in 2002 things were easier they said. Everyone
talked about how they could advertise on Google Adwords
for only .05 cents a click on really broad keywords.

If you sold Bananas, you’d make banana your keyword
and people would click on your ad (costing you .05 cents)
and they’d buy your bananas.

These days, you’d be lucky to spend .75 cents a click to
even be on the first page.

Here’s the sickest part though.

I remember an event in 2002 that has changed my
life forever.

I was surfing around the internet when I found a little
forum called the Warrior Forum.

It was a site where people met and discussed marketing
on the internet. It looked pretty interesting to me and I
was going to sign up.

One problem though. To sign up you had to spend $10.

Not a large sum of money to be sure. But I didn’t have
a Credit Card at the time (I was 20, in college, B R O K E).

I certainly didn’t have a Paypal account then. Paypal was
really cheesy back then anyway, remember?

So what did I do? Nothing. I didn’t sign up. I could have
gotten the $10 easily. I just never got around to it.

Had I joined the Forum right then I would have met some
of Internet Marketing’s biggest names…Willie Crawford,
Allen Says, Mike Filsaime, Jonathon Mizel, and the list goes
on.

Many of today’s biggest names were learning the ropes, and
I could have been right there alongside them.

Instead, I didn’t start marketing online until October 2006.
Over 4 years later.

What did I miss out on?

The launch of Google Adwords.
The launch of Google Adsense.
Yahoo’s growth with Yahoo Search.
The Google Cash Method
John Reese’s Traffic Secrets
And ton’s more

I missed all that…and yes it’s true I could probably
be a millionaire today had I got in then.

BUT

Here’s why I’m happy. I did get in. Sure it wasn’t at
the easiest time, but it definitely was the right time for
me.

I now derive a full time income (and then some) simply
by marketing on the internet.

I have learned from my prior mistakes, and now the only
thing I can stress to you is to take action.

Don’t wait till tomorrow, don’t wait for the “right” time.

This is it.

If I had started in 2002 sure I would have made a lot
of money…but what if didn’t start last year?

I would have lost tens of thousands that I’ve already
made in the last few months.

So my advice is this. Don’t wait around anymore. If you’re
on the fence, get off and either forget this idea or do
something with it.

You’ll have to learn the ropes, but once you do there isn’t
an industry out there as fun as this one. (I may be a little
biased, though).

Otherwise you might miss out on the next Google, or the
next YouTube, or Yahoo, or Google Cash or Traffic Secrets…

And that would be a shame.

To Action,

Mike Antoni

    Hey Mike,
Yea, I hear you there brother. I remember I found out bout Google Adwords mid 04. And what did I promote? Some rip off product, where I didn’t make a dime. I thought the whole adwords thing was a waste of money. And didn’t return to it until last year.
Now I promote stuff which actually makes me money. But I would have been a whole lot further along if I had promoted the right things back in 04.
But the thig is, least i DID return to it.

That’s what matters - more than things you missed out on. When the time’s right, it’s the only time that you’ll make it work. Ford wasn’t the one who invented the wheel, either. :) But his part was taking things to new heights.
    Take care, Mike,

    Very well said.

    This truth:

can and should be applied in every arena of life.

I need to apply it more.
